Light flight; The Pentangle.

I borrow Cd’s from the local library, and for the last 2 weeks I have been listening to the record Basket of light, which was the Pentangle’s most successful recording, probably because the song Light flight was used by the BBC as the music for its first colour TV series, called Three Girls. This wonderful folk rock band came together in 1967, with guitarist singers Bert Jansch and John Renbourn coming together with folk singer Jacqui McFee, and Jazz bassist Danny Thompson and drummer Terry Cox. They were a live band who put out a hand full of records before separating in 1973. (They did resurrect in the 1980’s, but with different personnel, and little success). Here they are at the height of their popularity in 1970, with a live performance of Light flight from a BBC Special, thanks to YouTube and Fawnface:
