If we were a song, no.2.

If we were a song;

we would fly high in the breeze,

we would take in all the trees,

we would bring smiles to many faces,

we would sing softly on the reddening dawn,

we would bring peace to our troubled world,

we would find the depth of our souls,

we would sing on high in the fiery evensong,

we would find wonder in ourselves,

combining to write and sing this song

in love, peace and serenity.

I have written this poem to answer a challenge by Sarah Doughty on her blog, where she wrote a wonderful poem on if we were a song. Here is a link to the original http://www.sarahdoughty.com/2015/05/17/beauty-and-grace/

  1. Beautiful Charles. I loved these lines ” we would sing softly on the reddening dawn,

    we would bring peace to our troubled world”

    • Hi Elle, yes that came out well, thanks, but I think in many ways the original poem (hence no.2 being in the title) by Sarah Doughty is far better than mine, but over time I will improve mine until it is ready for publishing. Best wishes and blessings, Charles.

    • Thanks I enjoyed writing it, but in the end preferred her poem like this. Have been reading the Artists4peace contributions with great joy and interest, thanks, best wishes and blessings, Charles. 🙂
